Navy Boot Camp Split Option Training Program

How to Succeed in the Navy Boot Camp Split Option Training Program

You’ve read the three big words, determined that you would serve your country and joined the United States Navy. Next, you’ll be going through the RTC in Great Lakes, Illinois for basic training or boot camp where you will gain the fundamental knowledge about being a sailor for 7-9 weeks. But as a high school student you have chosen to undergo the Split Option program meaning that you will undergo your initial navy boot camp after junior year of high school and then go back home and complete high school. After you are through with your course, you return for your follow on Navy occupational specialty training.

The Split training Option gives an opportunity to begin preparing for a military training from the time you’d want to get or but does not require you to postpone getting a high school diploma. But it also means doing boot camp twice but you will only be there the second time for 2 weeks. Here are some tips which can help you to prepare for the first step towards becoming one of America’s best service. Here you know more about Navy Boot Camp Berthing.

The Navy Boot Camp Split Option Training Program allows individuals to complete basic training in two parts, making it ideal for students or those with scheduling conflicts. Participants undergo the first phase of boot camp during one summer and return the following summer to complete the second phase. This flexible option enables recruits to experience navy basic training while managing civilian responsibilities, such as school or work, before going to active duty. The program prepares individuals for Navy service by building discipline, physical fitness and essential naval skills.

Physical Preparation is Key

Navy Boot Camp Split Option Training Program

Boot camp is rigid wearing process both doing physically and mentally stressing routine. To avoid injuries and set yourself up for success.

This is how to: do strength training, cardio and body weight training. Concentration should be made on the muscular strength and endurance as well as aerobic power. Being physically prepared will help you meet and exceed physical requirements a major key in success of a team.

Get into the habit of drinking adequate water and consuming good reliable meals prior to getting to boot camp. Proper nutrition will assist in maintaining your body well fed at all times.

  • Get plenty of rest Boot camp operates on very little sleep so be sure to get a good night’s sleep before arriving.

When preparing to leave, do not go out and have fun or spend time with friends the night before you are due to be shipped out. In the next few weeks you will need as much brain and energy as you possibly can gather.

Embrace the Mindset

Upon passing through the main gate, you are effectively washing off your civilian status by the authority of the RTC. The best way to adopt the navy culture and the perceptions by everyone in your family is to embrace the military mindset as soon as possible. Keep this principles in mind:

Mission first

You’re part of a team now. An employee must subjugate their personal goals and preferences in effort to fulfill organisational needs.

Tighten up

Discipline and organisation is something that military split training needs and expects. Always make sure your bunk, gear and person are neat and clean.

Discipline and respect

This particularly applies to individual subordination to rules and other authorities and most especially when the individual is worn out or angry everybody properly.

The fact that this is a noble goal should encourage you to overcome various challenges to achieve the end goal. Do not moan or attract nuisance face adversities with peritact and bravado.

Help Your Shipmates

Cohesion is significant to the Navy. You are to support your struggling shipmates as required to the extent that they pursue shared goals to achieve the mission. Another benefit will be the formation of friendship with your division in that you will be having people to run to for support.

Study Your Knowledge

Study hard now, monster, because when you get to RTC, you’ll cut classes and the studying you do will be tremendously productive. Ideally, you should be reviewing and memorising your Start Guide before knowledge about the foundation of the Navy, simple traditions, rank and insignia. It can be seen that all these elements should be studied in navy seal training, and the materials should be reviewed as often as possible. Make available time an occasion for questions and answers with other shipmates and vice versa. Doing many questions and answers at a high speed will help you pass the last Battle Stations where military knowledge is crucial for success.

Persevere Through Discomforts

Navy boot camp is built to resemble as much of life at sea as possible. That means small stumpy beds, scant and hygienic interiors and others in confined limited spaces with fellow crewmen you come across on ship. You will also suffer from lack of sleep, start early, work physically and stay away from home for most of the time. I think the most significant way initial few days come across as profound culture shock could not be denied.

Remember it’s temporary. Lean on your division, keep your eyes on the prize of graduation day, only stress about things you can control and look for the fun in all of this. Many people are already out there doing what you saw thousands doing and you too can. The next thing you know, you can be back home a more confident, capable young lady ready for your last year of High School.

The Navy boot camp experience represents a significant step into service and into a man’s, or woman’s adulthood. Staging, attitude, teamwork, commitment to overcoming the drawbacks and discomforts will get you prepared for the Split Option program. Focus on graduation day and look deeply into it and ask yourself why you wanted to be part of the America’s Navy in the first place. Good luck recruit until you gather your big bucks and move across to the other side.
